ABOUT US
Craft Productions of Oklahoma is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 1994 as Theatre Arts Children's Theatre. Our mission is to provide students in our community a one-of-a-kind Broadway quality experience while providing first class family entertainment at an affordable price. Our mission has expanded and we are proud to offer local artists the opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized performers. We have been honored to have the following grace our stage:
Two-time Tony nominee and star of Broadway’s The Sound of Music, Rebecca Luker
Original Star Search Grand Champion and Sands Springs native, Sam Harris
Grammy Award winning artist, Debbie Boone
Star of the hit television series M*A*S*H, Jamie Farr
Star of Days of Our Lives, The Nanny and Mad Men, Charles Shaughnessy
Miss Oklahoma 1980, Miss America 1981 and former host of Home Matters, Susan Powell
Mollie Craft’s commitment to empowering children through the arts made renaming our company, Craft Productions of Oklahoma, more than serendipitous—it made it obvious. Her gift has allowed us to foster an environment where kids can learn the craft of professional theatre and create the theatrical magic Tulsa deserves. We are honored and humbled by her generosity and look forward to seeing you at one of our productions.
TODAY’S STUDENTS, TOMORROW’S LEADERS
Craft Productions is dedicated to providing local and “at risk” youth an atmosphere that builds character, leadership skills, emotional growth, professional mentoring, camaraderie and a community of that fosters positive decision making. By creating hands on performance and technical opportunities for students, we empower students to develop their resilience, grit and a growth mindset that allows them to master their artistic craft.
Students who are involved with theatre and the arts are 4x as likely to be recognized for academic achievement, score an average of 100 points higher on their SATs and are twice as likely to graduate from college than their peers.
A study published in Champions of Change cites theatre arts as a source for “gains in reading proficiency, gains in self-concept and motivation, and higher levels of empathy and tolerance towards others”
